Here is a thought –

Anyone interested in each nation opening a real life FREE internet site that sells real goods and services?

Each nation could run their own according to their own laws. The competition could be based on the real life wealth created. The legislatures could pass laws about what is to be done with the money.

Hitches: - Someone has to be trusted to be the treasurer – someone who will spend the money only as directed by the laws of the micronation – and not embezzle the funds.

You drive activity to your site by way of spreading the URL and asking real people to buy – the people who buy don’t have to be a member of your micronation – or even know it is run by a micronation.

Think of the variety of Ministries that would really mean something and have a job to perform. Several people might actually be needed in any given Ministry –

The head politico of the micronation might even have to suggest a real budget and the legislature make real decisions.

Yeah, but what is the benefit of the people making real money to give some to their government? If I'm making money off BGI games, why bother putting BGI into an economic simulation when I can make money on my own?

And you need someone who actually has the interest and the knowledge to run such an e-business, for it really takes a lot of time and is not without personal financial risk. I will never do such a thing, and I think it will be difficult to find someone in every micronation who wants and can.

I sustain the idea of injecting foreign money in a micronational economy. We know that every micronation is aspiring to be an "established" nation. And every "established" nation with a good economy, made, at a certain point of time, some loans or non-payable loans that helped it to recover from a crisis. In my micronation, this works very well, as a constant funding is assured by our investments in the Romanian State. This way, we may mint omre money backed by real values, and develop a micronational economy. The only problem is that, due to technical restrictions, the system only works for the initial 20 people who met the King (me), but a good programmer could eventually exted this to the Internet.

Yes, but this isn't always practacal (sorry bout my spelling) to all micronations.  An really, who wants a hat that says "The Realm of Tallandor"?  Sure some things are good, like the PC games that are being produced, but this, at this point in time, is not what i think we want to achieve.  Maybe later, when each micronation has 20,000 citizens (hey, we can dream right...) this is plausible, but the majority of micronations would have to decline this type of system.  Plus, this would only make us poorer than 3rd world coutries, as we can never amass the type of money large countries have.  In the end, (IMHO) we be only a for-profit internet organisation that everyone ignores, and happens to fund raise money.  One last thing...what keeps people from just taking their profits and leaving?  I can see it now.  Hundreds (might be an exageration ;)  ) of people flock to micronations not to be part of the hobby, but to scam and make real money for free, then take off.

sorry, i'm done now...

Kiseenia, one of your premises was not correct: not all micronations strive to become an established nation. Many are merely communities or simulations.
