Congratulations to award winners and those who made the awards possible.

King August Charles - great acceptance speech in the true spirit of micronationalism.

Just because Jeremy has been around over a year (but less than two) doesn't mean he's no longer a new micronationalist. It normally takes two years for a micronationalist to develop into a true veteran of the community. There's a reason why the Odlum Award, except when given to Robert Davis, usually goes to a person who has been around for more than 2 years (often three or more years).

With regards to KZFO. The judging panels every year that KZFO has been nominated for the Journalism FNORD have reached the conclusion that its primary output is light entertainment rather than journalism. A case in point is the last KZFO broadcast, bizarrely amusing to listen to but incoherent and not very informative. Blogging services such as AMC are able to keep the micronational community informed of current events in a much more succinct fashion.

Foghorn, it looks like you're going to have to take a new line of argument - it's not the judges, it's an anti-KZFO bias is inherent in award categories, and thus the entire system. Obviously the entire FNORD Awards Committee looks forward to each January when they get the opportunity to crush your hopes and dreams.

That's a good point, O Babkhan.
So effectively the only reason why KZFO wasn't nominated was because there wasn't an appropriate category for it to be awarded a FNORD award in. That kind of makes sense. Coupled with the fact that KZFO, no offence to Antica, is probably more important to Anticans than anyone else since Antica's isolationism means that a lot of KZFO is really Antican internal politics.

KZFO was nominated and received a portion of the total vote into the second round of voting. It was in the third round that the 4 judges' votes became equally split between the Standard and AMC, resulting in the joint award.

It keeps non-Anticans apprised of what's going on in Antica while not including too much non-Antican stuff to over bore Anticans.

Plus, KZFO is not just one show, it's a network, including the Ben Gray Show, the new show from Jamzinia, and other Radio Lovely spin-off shows.  Tongue

I appreciate the votes, and will work harder for next year's awards.

Perhaps we should just stack the panel...

The Ben Gray Show isn't on KZFO any more (macronational legal issues), and a network can't be counted as journalism.  It's like saying that NewsCorp should be granted a journalism award.  Whilst The Times or Fox News may be eligible (by a stretch of the imagination), that does not qualify the network for the award, only the show, as the network is only the means of disseminating the information, rather than its gathering, reporting or analysis.  It's the same reason why Blogger won't get an award for it either.

Bah. KZFO should've won. And the GSO is nice enough, but revolutionary? For doing exactly what another organization has been doing for five years, but with slightly better graphics? Yeah, they're a regular Che Guevara. And I refuse to recognize any winner of a literary award who can't use commas and periods properly; that really ought to be the bare minimum. Also, just in general, you all suck.

...except for the history prize. Thank you very much for that!
