I changed my mind about the EU

« on: November 26, 2007, 04:00 AM »

The ADB ruleset is one of numerous rulesets offered.  When a nation joins the MRWS it is free to opt in to it, and where a nation has already joined it is free to opt out of it.  This was done to save from the hassle of having to canvass everyone to join, and particularly as most people had signed up to the ADB system anyway, and supported Pete James' persistent war system, and the persistent threat of war was the only legitimate means of having expanded forces.

The MRWS is a service that provides a variety of rulesets (SNARL included) by which to judge recwars, with a choice ultimately lying with the nations themselves.  Complaints about overly complex rules can only be made by the functionally illiterate or the terminally lazy, as a brief glance at the Charter (the only rule binding on all members) demonstrates its reduced complexity since the extreme007 days.  The system is fundamentally simple: if you joined before November 21st, you opt-out of the ADB system if you don't like it, but other than that when a conflict arises, members choose the rule system and judge they want, and the MRWS provides them.

In future, before you all jump on bandwagons, at least actually read the rules and the charter properly.  You are not bound to the ADB system, and the Charter was simplified a few weeks ago.  The resignations of all bar Alexandria, Stormark and Woodstania will not be accepted until such time as the members have actually spoken to me personally about the rule system and raised their objections.

I think everyone's a bit scared of war without agreement. As Ben says, please READ what you sign! Tongue
