Perhaps - but for many micronationalists the choice of republic or monarchy, much as the choice of culture is essentially a frivolous one.

Greetings to all:

Monarchy is the best government that money cannot buy... at least in my opinion.  A monarch is supposed to be apolitical.  If there were some method where the monarch could be replaced (such as an elective monarchy), or through "test & trial," then tyranny would be less possible.

In Lykosha, for example, the Jarl can be replaced by a Challenge to his/her authority, and if eighty percent of the Althing Assembly votes it so, is replaced.  It's not exactly constitutional, but checks & balances are set into the system this way.

I realize that there is no current macronational monarchy that works this way; I am only speaking from what I know.
